First step is to download Ubuntu MATE 15.04 image for the Raspberry Pi 2.

Extract the .img.bz2 archive to get the image file.
Install this application on your windows system: Win32 disk imager, an application to prepare bootable SD card/USB pen drive.
Select the image file you extracted, select the drive letter of the SD card in the 'Device' menu (be careful to select the correct drive). Click on ‘Write’ to burn the image file onto SD card. If you have problems, pleae watch this video lesson to learn how you execute the steps of the installation
Note:
You'll need a microSD card which is 4GB, use a Class 6 or Class 10 microSDHC card.
